Michelle Dickinson founded and directs NanoGirl Labs Ltd which is a social enterprise. With a broad background in Biomedical and Materials engineering, she has achieved many things and is ending the stigma around women in science. Michelle says that she has always followed her dreams and never let any of society’s stereotypes scare her from doing things.
She has won many awards such as the Women of Influence for science and innovation in 2016, The Sir Peter Blake Leadership award in 2015, and many science media communication awards. Along with these successful recognizations she speaks for communities, school, charities, and not-for-profits all over the country. To add to those she is also the author of two very popular books; No.8 Recharged and the Science Kitchen Cookbook.
Having made a name for herself and her creation of ‘NanoGirl’ which is the only female-led science show that features academically trained female scientists and engineers who play nano girl on stage. The show is to make science fun and interesting to anyone and everyone. Her unique insight into science and nature has led her to do these amazing things.
