Ironwoman
13th July 2017
Treadwell Gordon, Whanganui
12pm
This is the re-scheduled presentation by one of our favourite inspirational speakers, Erica Green. She is back to share her story of overcoming adversity with our Whanganui Three Keys members.
Erica Green, a teacher at Rangitikei College, was told she would never walk again after a dreadful car accident in 1999. Fighting the odds with strength and determination, Erica completed the Ironman in 2007. Her story does not end there, in July 2014 Erica's doctors found a brain tumour which had to be removed. Continually fighting adversity, Erica wanted to repeat her earlier feat. Her next target was the Taupo Ironman in March 2016.
Erica would have us believe she is no different than anyone else, but perhaps this is why her story is so compelling, because she reminds us that, however average we may feel, we all possess the ability to achieve great things.
Erica is sponsored by Kellogg's New Zealand, who are providing mentoring and training by Kiwi 2008 World Ironman Champion triathlete, Terenzo Bozzone.
